BSA Silver Star Rear #48-1
/ Vintage Steel/ Michael RockM20, WM20, Gold Star and Silver Star Valanced Rear Mudguard
Here is a copy of a 1940 BSA Silver Star 500cc motorcycle rear mudguard / fender. This same mudguard was used from the late 1930’s on Gold Star and WM20 models. This is a deep D section guard with the BSA centre rib which stops short in the tail piece. The nose end has cut-outs, pressings and folded edges on both sides for frame and chain-guard clearance. It is a 2-piece guard using a step-down overlap join with riveted bracket inside and raised button pressings in the tail-piece for bolt mountings. Asymmetric valance panels on both sides are roll swaged into the rolled edge of the mudguard blade. There is a slight ducktail with a riveted bracket in the tail. and the nose end has cut-outs, pressings and folded edges on both sides for frame and chain-guard clearance. Riveted brackets and centre reinforcing plate are also available.
