1932-1952 Ariel Square 4 Motorcycle Front Mudguard or fender by Vintage Steel

Ariel fitted some stylish sweeping tail mudguards to their bikes in the 1930’s. This is a copy of the early Square 4 front guard which was used through to the early 50’s on more than one model. It is a ribbed D section guard with finished width of 130mm. The full length valances are made to fit the reverse tail bend and roll swaged into the rolled edge of the guard. The rib has been hand blended into the raised moustache-like nose treatment and then number plate and mounting point pressings added. The brackets and rivets for the front stand mounting point under the tail are included but not fitted because there are some variations between bikes in the positioning of this.
Note: The shaping of the moustache-like nose end is done by hand and will vary from one sample to another.
