Ariel SQ4 Plunger Rear #47-4
/This 2-piece hinged rear mudguard is for plunger model Ariel Square Four Deluxe motorcycles. Plunger models with Anstey link rear suspension units were supplied from 1939-1958. Fully valanced rear guards appeared on Deluxe models and similar guards also appeared on some other Ariel models. This one has a centre rib interrupted at various points for mountings. It has a cut and pressed chainguard relief at the nose and the tail has its own distinct Ariel shape where the centre rib is flared into a raised and folded tail. The two-piece join has a step down with slot for the unique riveted Ariel hinge. The riveted saddle bracket that sits over the top of the guard under the seat will be available when we can confirm its location.
