Douglas used this 4.25” wide C section guard with full length valances on a range of models from 1919 on. The valances have a Douglas shape rolled and folded safety edge. These are then roll-swaged into the rolled edge of the guard to form a very strong rattle-free join. This early post-WW1 mudguard is longer than later models and had the very slim valances seen on veteran models, see links below for the deeper valanced front guard #13DOUFF-2
