Indian Rigid Rear #16-1
/ Michael RockReproduction Indian Rear fender / mudguard by Vintage Steel
The 1913 to 1915 rigid Indian motorcycle models had this wide 4.4” (110mm) panama hat profile fender. Side pressings near the top (thought to be for suspension clearance) were evident even on the rigid models suggesting that the same base fender was used for both rigid and suspended models. There are two riveted brackets, a raised rolled tail and frame/chain clearance pressings in the sides at the nose end. Notably this model doesn’t have the riveted stiffener plate which is inside the nose end at the swinging arm mounting on the models with rear suspension.
