BSA 1936 Q8 Empire Star Rear #48-5

BSA’s 1936 Empire Star was unique in a number of ways, one of which is this rear mudguard. This is a 6 1/4” wide deep ‘D’ section mudguard with BSA centre rib. It has a number of rib pressings and also some button pressings in the rib. A fully riveted custom made hinge and two riveted brackets are included. The rear guard is not duck-tailed but does have a chain clearance pressing at the nose end. Notably there is a cut-out with welded insert creating room for the gearbox adjuster. Three sample guards each had different brackets, one of which used round tube loop stays. Brackets or stays are optional and can be requested to order.
