This panama hat fender is the same outward shape and width as the late teens veteran Indian motorcycle profile, but from 1918/19? onwards was made as a deep sided pressing. This Vintage Steel version is made using the same rolled fender as the pre 19 models. The compromise is hidden by fully welding the valances to have the same outward appearance as the originals. The pressing on top of the nose end of the main blade is flat (not scalloped) on this later version possibly 1920 on.
There is a two piece riveted bracket in the tail end. The separate nose piece with raised rolled nose, riveted bracket and pressed-edge cut-out is the same as previous years.
