Indian Chief Front Fender 1927-31 #55-6
/ Michael RockReproduction Indian Chief motorcycle front fender or mudguard by Vintage Steel
Indian Chiefs and scouts through the late 20’s and early 30’s used the same profile base fender, but had some major detail changes as the forks changed through the years. We make most of them and this example is for the 1927-31 Chiefs with with the wider front suspension legs and full length valances. The valance and fender was a one-piece stamping by then but we don’t have the huge presses or dies available so have made this the old way with separate valances spot welded on. Solder was used here to semi-fill the join but in hindsight, a neater job would result with just a smear of body filler. The solder flux has stained and discoloured our usually shiny steel fender.
Deep fork pressings, riveted stays (braces) and laser cut bottom brackets are all included. The stays are left over-length for accurate fitment on the bike.
