BSA 1936 Empire Star Front #30-9N
/ Michael RockIt appears from samples we have seen that BSA’s 1936 Empire Star models sported a couple of different width D section front guards from 5 to 5 1/4”. All had the distinctive duckbilled nose and centre rib. The twin strips of sheet metal to locate the front number-plate (which we have yet to successfully replicate) were also only seen for a brief period on these bikes. There are reinforcing patches spot welded inside the guard at both the fork and tail mounting points. The nose end will be supported by a tube loop stay.
