/Brough Superior SS100 Rear mudguard by Vintage Steel
This Brough Superior mudguard is made to drawings of a 1927 SS100 supplied by our client and verified by a local sample. The rear mudguard has a finished width of ~5.75” or 147mm, although a narrower version is also available. It has near full length valances and a side pressing (or cutaway) for chainguard clearance. This is the slimmer of two variants of valance (80mm deep at its deepest point) which results in a small fold out piece over the chainguard. In these photos, the fold out piece has been left straight to be done when fitting to the bike with chainguard in place. The more common, deeper version is available whicjh has a much wider fold out end over the chainguard and these come in a variety of shapes as seen in the sample photos of other bikes. There are two riveted brackets which protrude through the valance and one more in the tail piece. The two-piece join has a fitted insert plate, pins in the valance edge and a riveted machined disc top and bottom. Many variations are available.
