ROVER 1917 Front mudguard by Vintage Steel

This Rover Front mudguard is copied from an original 1917 model with a slight allowance made for modern rims and tyres. Many restored Rovers with 26" wheels appear to have very tight fitting or even interference fit mudguards. Investigating this, we have heard that Rovers of this period may have been fitted with 25" wheels. We now make these Rover guards with an extra 1/2" in diameter to clear a 26x2.5" tyre and even (only just) a 26x3". You may have to consider modifying your mounting limitations of front and rear stands when ordering. The finished valanced front mudguard is 4” wide at the forks. Rivet patterns may vary, some have 6 rivets in the tail bracket (purple background), some have 4 (orange background).
Three different front bracket options are available;
1. first, the pictured type are angled out below the valance for threaded rod stays,
2. second is one that angles out through a slot in the valance just below the guard edge also for threaded rod stays, and
3.the third type ends flat inside the valance for a rod stay with an eye in the end to be through-bolted.
