Ariel 1934-50 Rear #43-2
/Ariel D section motorcycle mudguards from the 1940's showed some subtle design changes over the years whilst maintaining their 147mm wide base profile as a constant. This sample was taken from a 1948 plunger 500cc OHV model and compares almost identically with a 1949 sample. Other year models are available. This guard is finished with a the Ariel pattern rib, number-plate and rear stand mount pressings, chain-guard pressing and a slightly duckbilled and rolled tail, all similar to the front guard with the rib hand blended into the rolled tail. Additionally there is a step-down 2-piece hinged joint and riveted brackets (some pics were taken before the second bracket was fitted which is also now available).
Note: The shaping of the moustache-like tail end is done by hand and will vary from one sample to another. It also changed over the years so please let us know what year model you have.
