Indian Standard/Chief 1923 Front #55-4
/ Michael RockIndian Standard & Chief front fender or mudguard by Vintage Steel
These fenders suit the 1922-24 Indian Standard and the first Indian Chief models for 1922/23 that used the push-up leaf spring suspension with looped end. A challenging fender to reproduce with some very deep pressings requiring special tooling. The T-slot cutout in the nose for leaf spring clearance also has pressed and raised edges and there are deep side pressings for fork clearance. The spot welded and soldered side valances are flared and shaped to fit. Two loop stays are riveted inside the fender and also riveted to a laser-cut bracket at the bottom. Getting the finished braces and mounting points to line-up is most important. Matching rear is also available.
