Harley 1926/27 Front #52-1
/ Vintage Steel/ Michael RockThis late 1920's Harley fender section is 7" wide by 2" deep and was used on most models from 1927-34. This is the 1927 version for models without a front brake. The 1928 models with front brake (#52HARFF-3) use a different valance panel. When ordering these front fenders, please state whether or not your forks have the front brake arm fitting on the left rear fork leg. These full length two piece valances are bolted-on using special hand made strip nuts copying the originals.
A short note on the small lip on the sides of the fender: The width of this lip varies from sample to sample and even from one side to the other from just visible to 2.2mm (3/32”) . The lip serves to stiffen the edge of these fenders and is an original feature. We have found a trend among some restorers to grind this lip off completely. We believe our role is to make faithful reproductions so we supply them with an approx 1 to 2mm wide lip which you can grind off if you wish.
