Triumph 1910-on Front #04-2
/ Michael RockTriumph veteran valanced front mudguard
Triumph motorcycles used this profile of mudguard / fender from 1909 to 1923. Valances were first seen regularly on 1911 models and occasionally 1910. This guard measures 90mm wide x 30mm deep including the Panama Hat style protruding rolled edges. It has a pressed and rolled nose plus fork relief pressings. It can be ordered as a plain valanced guard or with any combination of riveted brackets to suit your year model.
The wide flared front mudguard (Beaver-Tail) section is not available. These were fitted to 1913 and 1914 models then again for most models from 1916 to 1920/23. The nose end of the front guard remained the same through this period.
The centre bronze casting came in four different versions we have seen so far, possibly growing in size over the years. Type 1 is a very small one with two rivets, Type 2 is larger, also with two rivets, Type 3 is larger again, now with four rivets and Type 4 is the largest with six rivets. We cast these to order and are available at $110ea loose or $186 fitted.
Other versions of this profile are available for BSA, Rex etc.
Earlier model (1906-08) Triumph profile guards are also available (see links below)
For 1909 & 1910 models, we have not yet marked out the details for the front brake stirrup to pass through the edge of the guard.
Price of this valanced front guard with raised rolled nose, one riveted bracket and fork clearance pressings AU$1436
